FDA-Compliant Sealing for Food-Safe Process Environments

From CIP/SIP cycling to direct food-contact applications – material compliance without compromise.

Food and beverage processing places sealing materials at the center of product safety and regulatory compliance. Every seal in a fluid-contact or product-contact application is a potential contamination point — and the documentation to prove it isn’t starts with material selection.

PRP supplies FDA 21 CFR Part 177-compliant elastomeric seals for food processing, beverage production, dairy, and brewing applications. Our standard material portfolio for this market includes EPDM and platinum-cured silicone for direct food-contact service — both offer broad chemical compatibility with cleaning agents, thermal stability across steam-in-place cycling, and documented compliance with applicable food-contact regulations. FKM compounds are specified where oil-based or fatty-acid-containing process streams require resistance beyond silicone’s capability. PTFE-encapsulated seals are used in direct-contact applications where the base elastomer’s compliance profile or surface characteristics are not sufficient.
